Cheesy Kielbasa Pasta
This cheesy kielbasa pasta dish is a hearty, comforting meal made with sliced smoked kielbasa sausage, protein pasta, vegetables, and a rich, creamy cheese sauce.
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces protein penne pasta, such as barilla® protein+ (plus)
- 1 pound kielbasa, cut into 1/2-inch coins
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets
- 4 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup chicken bone broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Direction
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add penne and cook until tender with a bite, about 7 minutes; remove from heat.
- Meanwhile, add kielbasa to a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook until kielbasa coins are lightly browned. Add butter; when melted, add onion and sauté until softened, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add in broccoli florets and mushrooms.
- Pour in chicken broth, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in cream, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Strain pasta and stir into kielbasa mixture. Serve immediately.
